Hells Bells

Its the only day of the year where people open their doors to strangers and give them food yet it's in remembrance of what? Oh celebrating the dead that's right... any one thinking what I'm thinking here!? I myself am a great fan of halloween how ever I couldn't help but notice the amount of people parading around the streets of london dressed up as (to put it bluntly but the again as nicely as I can) strumpets. It's halloween people you are meant to scare people with blood dripping down your face or a skeletal frame not your boobs.

Paris for the weekend...

Sorry I have been so lazy with writing but I just got back from Paris where I was for the weekend. Paris is one of my all time favorite places EVER! I stayed in a hotel called the Pershing Hall which is on Rue Pierre Charron in the 8th and is the the most tantalizing boutique hotels which includes a vertical garden stretching 100ft through the middle of the hotel and a staggering bar complete with mirrored furniture in audacious colors (if you ever go order the pink pool...aHmazing).

For those of you who are planning a trip to Paris in the near future make sure that you go to the Marais district which is in the old Jewish area in the 4th. The Marais is home to some of the best vintage shops... my favorite being Free P Star which is number 8 Rue Croix and all the tiny thrift stores along Rue Des Rosier. For people spotting go on a Sunday the shops will be jam packed but you are sure to clock some interesting characters. I brought myself a vintage fur coat which will be indispensable to me this winter I'm sure.
I also had an interview at Parsons Paris where I hope to study photography next year... impelling stuff!
I will up load photos soon... Connie X

Like, want, NEED

The boots have definately been on my mind for a while an have made their way to the top of my x-mas wish list. Ahh See by Chloe you have gone and done it again! See by Chloe is the outre little sister to Chloe which defines French fashion. The line focuses of pretty dresses and faddy seperates and is bursting with feminine French penache. I wore my Kurt Geiger biker boots to death last winter and I am dying for these ones they are a harmonious mix of Doc Martins with a cowboy edge...fantastic!

Predetermined nostalgia

Boy text's girl. Girl and Boy meet up at 9. They talk about their lessons and any other events of the day. They kiss. They go back to house by 9.15. Well this was at least what happened at my school when we were 13.

I can't say I miss that now as I'm still at school and I'm still young my self and I see that happen every day and every other day another 13 year old girl will come back crying because "he was so good looking" and they broke up (sigh). But I can just see it now, that in ten years time when school is far behind me I will miss those 15 minutes of pure excitement. When you have nothing to worry about;marriage looming around the corner; and meeting up with a member of the opposite sex for a night doesnt have the possibility of leading to pregnancy. Am I alone in thinking this? Kind of sad me even thinking about this. But it was kind of on my mind all day.

I would quite like to be Tim Walker

The photo's above are mine and the ones below are by Tim Walker

These are some pictures I took on my friend Lucy for an art project of mine. I really wanted to capture an essance of Tim Walker in my photography and so I used his idea of ballons. I took these down by a canal in Oxford where there are all these funny little house boats which have set up a community. I took the photos at sunset so I could capture the perfect lighting , I wanted to mix together the grittyness of the boats with the femininity of lucy and the delicacy of the surrounding foliage. Tim Walker is a highly respected fashion photographer who has taken photos for Vogue, W, Harpers Bazaar and many more. I love LOVE love his style and the way it is so dramatic but harmonious at the same time.

On my mind...

Welcome to on my mind where I tell you ironically... whats on my mind! Mainly I will indulge you all on my thoughts and experiences with fashion, art and little things I may stumble upon but ocasionally I may go on a rant and let you see what it's like to be 17 again. I plan on posting pictures and websites sometime in the near future but I'm just finding my footing first....
Yours, Connie x
